NADOM Level II – Animal Decontamination

Service Description

COURSE OVERVIEW The NADOM Level II – Animal Decontamination Operations Supervisor course establishes the national supervisory and operational leadership credential for personnel responsible for managing animal decontamination operations during hazardous materials incidents, disasters, agricultural emergencies, law enforcement operations, and CBRNE events. This course builds directly upon NADOM Level I and transitions qualified responders into supervisory and corridor command roles responsible for planning, establishing, managing, and documenting animal decontamination operations within the Incident Command System (ICS). Supervisors are responsible not only for responder and animal safety, but also for: • Corridor design and control • PPE compliance • Runoff containment and environmental protection • Veterinary interface and clearance • Multi-agency coordination • Legal documentation and regulatory compliance Currently, no nationally standardized supervisory credential exists for animal decontamination operations. NADOM Level II closes this critical national preparedness gap by establishing the first formal supervisory qualification aligned with FEMA, NIMS, ICS, the National Response Framework, and homeland security preparedness priorities. This course qualifies graduates to serve as: • Animal Decontamination Corridor Supervisors • Animal Operations Branch Supervisors • Veterinary Interface Supervisors • Task Force Animal Operations Leaders and prepares personnel for advancement into NADOM Level III – Incident Commander and state-level program coordination roles. ***NADOM offers scalable Agency-Level and Statewide Implementation Packages to support adoption of the Tactical Canine Safety & Handling program as an operational standard across departments, regions, and state systems.*** PREREQUISITES Required: • NADOM Level I – Animal Decontamination Responder Recommended: • ICS-100 / ICS-200 (required for certification issuance) • HazMat Operations or Technician (preferred) • Prior supervisory or team leader experience
